ReVox B77 HS MK II reel to reel

The ReVox B77, a stunning tape recorder which offers studio recording quality but without the industrial look, these recorders were very successful, the only difference between the B77 and the PR99 is mainly cosmetics, the MK II and MK III PR99 have more sophisticated electronics on the control side but the heads are exactly the same. As you will see from the photographs, this recorder has had an easy life, the heads look in great condition and the panels show no signs of heavy wear, many B77 machines have the switch controls snapped off as they are fragile, this recorder still have al the switches and they all function correctly.

The recorder has had a few parts replaced, the main counter belt and the toothed small bet have been replaced, the toothed belts are prone to breaking, the ball racer on the right side of the head block has been replaced, the bulbs have been replaced and the recorder has been thoroughly checked over electrically, this machine is working great, the meters are in good order (The can go open circuit), if you look at the bottom of the page you will find some video files of the recorder in operation showing it working brilliantly.

The recorders response is very good, in 15 ips it's revision to sound is fantastic, the lower 7.1/2 ips is incredibly good too, you will see the monitor/tape switch being switched and you will hear what's coming off the tape and what's coming off the CD, though the quality of sound is let down by the fact this video is compressed.

Press the play twice button to start, double click on the video to make it full screen.

Pres play twice to start the video, click twice on the video to be taken to You tube.
